A little about us.

Hello I’m Dominika, founder of Verde. A little about me, I have a Bachelor of Fine Art degree with a background in painting and have always had a deep love of nature. Some time ago I became disillusioned with the art world and changed paths to pursue other interests.

Alas, the creative itch came back and I delved into photography but still felt a need to discover a more tactile, hands-on creative outlet.
At the same time, living in a subarctic climate and enduring long winters I found myself craving the energy of living plants, hence I discovered the art of terrarium making. I was working in a ‘soul-sucking’ Government job and craved to venture out on my own.

In 2014, through a series of pop-ups and markets Verde was born and has now grown into a shop front business, mainly run by super girl boss Zoe (my daughter who has been there from day one!).
Today we are blessed to have a wonderful team equally passionate for nature and people. We love creating beautiful living works of art for your home and workspace through our Terrariums and Moss Art.
Human beings originate from nature and are a part of it; yet, in our westernized, daily lives we sometimes loose our connection to the natural world.
Plants facilitate a re-connection point. They offer a space of reflection, while adding warmth and enhancing the aesthetic quality of your space.
